 Session 1: Mid and High Efficiency Furnaces

This two-hour session about mid- and high-efficiency gas furnaces addresses evidence of failure and improper installation using actual case studies. Learn how to inspect components of induced draft and condensing furnaces, and how to identify and report defects. This session enables you to convey to your clients the unique features and issues of these heating systems.

 Session 2: IRC Structural Changes Update

This two-hour session covers building revisions to the 2015 International Residential Code (IRC). You will learn about IRC residential changes and some commercial changes. Graphic illustrations of components and systems are included to demonstrate changes and reinforce your understanding of the updates.

About the Presenter

Michael Casey, ACI, MCI, is principal with Michael Casey & Associates, a consulting firm based in San Diego. He is past president of the California Real Estate Inspection Association (1994/1995) and the American Society of Home Inspectors (2002). Mike started inspecting in 1987, then soon after branched out into education and now operates a claims consulting practice as well. He has inspected more than 10,000 buildings in his 30+ year career. Mike is multi-code certified by the ICC and IAMPO. He is licensed in several states as a general, plumbing and mechanical contractor, and is a Virginia licensed home inspector.
