The 2007 VAREI Annual Membership Meeting and Conference
will be held on October 6, 2007 from 8:00 -1:00.

Cost is $100 which includes Continental Breakfast, Lunch and VAREI Membership for one year

This could be one of VAREI’s most important meetings!

The Board for Asbestos, Lead, and Home Inspectors is going to begin a review of the home inspector regulations over the next few months. The process could take two years. During the review there is an opportunity for anyone who wants to recommend changes to the certification law to do so. This provides an opportunity for home inspectors to decide what changes, if any, they want to the existing regulation. Please review the certified home inspector regulations on the DPOR website and come to the meeting prepared to recommend changes (if you have any) to the VAREI Board. The changes will be incorporated into a consolidated draft that VAREI officers can present to the Board when the public hearings are held.

David Dick, the Executive Director for the Board for Asbestos, Lead, and Home Inspectors will explain the kinds of changes that can and cannot be made during the review process.

Inspectors from around the state will report on the state of the home inspection industry in their regions. This could be enlightening and may provide grist for some changes to the regulation.

Directions: From north and east take I-295 towards Charlottesville to exit 45 Woodman Rd. South. Go to the light and turn right on Mountain Rd. Go three quarter mile to Cultural Arts Center on the right.

From west take I-64 east to 295 north towards Norfolk. Take exit 45 Woodman Rd. South then follow directions as listed above.
