Jim Vaughn, Owner/Operator of HOMEAuthority provides pre-purchase residential and light commercial inspections in Northern Virginia and Washington, DC. Residential consulting services are also available.

Jim's home inspection career started in 1986 at HomePro in Falls Church, VA after working in both commercial and residential construction. During his time at HomePro, Jim was a classroom instructor in HomePro's Inspector Training Academy, and also field trained inspectors. In 1992 Jim left HomePro to open HOMEAuthority. Jim believes a home inspection should be more than just a list of defects. The inspection should be an education for the home buyer.

Jim is a member of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI), and a Virginia Certified Inspector (VACHI). Jim belongs to the Northern Virginia Chapter of the American Society of Home Inspectors (NOVA ASHI) and is a member of the Virginia Association of Real Estate Inspectors (VAREI). Jim attends local, area, and national conferences and seminars to maintain continuing education credits in excess of ASHI requirements, and to keep current on the latest changes in residential construction and technology.

Radon and Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) testing are available. Although computer reports are standard, on-site hard copy reports are available for those in need of that format.
